Dancing at Peninsula Ballet School does far more than present the opportunity for a stage career. It helps with social interaction, spatial awareness, coordination, musical appreciation and develops students creativity and self-expression, all while making friends for life! When taught by our knowledgeable and nurturing teachers each student can achieve personal progress reaching goals at their own pace, within their own capabilities.

We offer many dance styles for a different ages and abilities: Ballet from 18 months to Adults, Contemporary from Stage 2 to Advanced, Jazz & Tap from 3 year old to Open, and Musical Theatre Dances from Stage 3 to Open.

Just ask us which classes and days might be suitable for you to try. There is so much choice and we would love for you to experience the benefit you can get from all the different styles of dance we offer.

All children develop their confidence and ability to follow instructions at different speeds and when put into a new environment they take time to understand what is going on. Even those who are normally outgoing may freeze in this new situation or run around excitedly playing. We gently try to bring them back to focus and participate in what the class is doing, but we understand that this will be different for every child and are not worried about this. Sometimes your child may not be ready to settle yet, so we then recommend you wait a little longer and try again later, but usually they settle into the rhythm of the classes given time.

Attendance in class is very important to peers and our teaching staff, with absences impacting social and confidence-building principals we work hard to foster. If you know ahead of time that classes will be missed, please let us know so the class impact is minimal. If a student is too unwell to attend class, please inform us as soon as possible. If you miss a class you may do a make-up class if you wish. Please contact us to schedule this.
